Full loot and free PvP outside guard zones are the game, but without consequences a few players can empty the alpha. The economy (#121) has innocent, grey (criminal, thief) and hero; it has no murderers and no protection for newcomers.
- Murder counts as in UO: killing an innocent outside the law adds a count, enough counts make you red (anyone may kill you, guards attack, towns refuse your trade), counts decay with online time.
- Young colonists: a short protection for new characters (no attack from others outside lawless land, no loot) that ends on their first criminal act or after N hours of play.
- Corpse camping and ghost harassment, guard response in towns (with
townsfolk), what stays lawless (the isles, the wilds:isles-rules). - Show it all: name colours, a notoriety line in the status window, the reason in the journal.
Done when the rules are a decision row, the server enforces them and the bots include a murderer the guards hunt down.
