Testers can't build Rust from a private repository. The client and the baked world have to reach them as a download.
- Release builds from CI for macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel, signed and notarised) and Windows (signed); Linux if cheap. Assets packed with the build.
- An updater or launcher: checks the client version against the server
(
PROTOCOL_VERSION,Welcome.world_hash), downloads the new client and the world bake (ship-baked-world), resumes broken downloads. - Release channels (alpha, internal), release notes from the changelog.
- Download hosting on R2 next to the media.
Done when a tester on a clean Mac or Windows machine installs from the site, launches, and gets the next build automatically.
